“Son of man, suppose the people of a country were to sin against me, and I lifted my fist to crush them, cutting off their food supply and sending a famine to destroy both people and animals. 14 Even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were there, their righteousness would save no one but themselves, says the Sovereign Lord. Ezekiel 14:13–14 (NLT)
Beloved, as the Lord brings us to the end of another week, let us reflect on His sovereignty, and the righteous example of Noah, Daniel, and Job, cited for our inspiration.
Noah found favor in obedience, and against the tide of generational corruption and moral decline, dared to stand apart.
Daniel, possessed a foreign land with prayer, competent excellence and righteousness.
And Job, in the worst trial of one's faith, withstood the pains and tortures of the evil one, and held on in faith against untold sufferings.
This weekend, let us commit to stand apart like Noah; excel like Daniel, and endure suffering with faith like Noah.
This is pleasing to the Lord, and I dare say it makes Him smile. May He take delight in us, even as we look to Him for grace.
AMEN.
