Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. 2 A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. 3 He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way. 5 When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” Luke 19:1–5 (NIV)

Beloved, where were you when Jesus called you? Perhaps your story is not as dramatic as Zacchaeus', but there is no denying that the light of the knowledge of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ was thrown upon you with divine intentionality at some point.

A day came when the Gospel was no longer foolishness to you, but rather a precious pearl.

This morning, let us reflect on the intentionality of Jesus in calling down Zaccheus from the tree... And in calling US into the Kingdom.

And let us take heart, that just as the wind blows where it blows, so, too, will Jesus call all that are His unto Himself.

The difference now is that He has asked me and you to be His Ambassadors to herald His invitation. If we lift His name up, He will call all men to Himself.

May He help us in our role as Ambassadors this morning.

AMEN.
